Religion Assembly
This week, I had planned to deliver an assembly on the Feast of the Epiphany, which marks the journey of the three wise men who brought gifts to baby Jesus. Since I wasn’t able to present it in person, I have uploaded a PowerPoint about the Feast of the Epiphany on the school website for children to explore at home.
As part of this learning, I would like to invite children to write a short prayer or poem about the importance of the three wise men bringing gifts to Jesus and to reflect on what special gifts they bring to their own family and friends. These gifts could be things like the gift of love, kindness, giving great hugs, being a good friend or being helpful to family and teachers. I have included my example for you to read.
If your child would like to take part, please email their prayer or poem to me. My email address is below. There will be rewards for those who participate and some of the children will have the chance to read their work aloud in an upcoming assembly.
Thank you for your support,

Dear God,
Thank you for the wise men,
Who brought precious gifts to Jesus.
Help me to share my own special gifts with the people around me.
I bring the gift of love to my family by helping and caring for them.
I bring the gift of kindness to my friends by listening when they are sad.
I bring the gift of joy by making people laugh.
I bring the gift of patience to my little brother when he needs help.
Please help me to always give my gifts with a kind heart,
Just like the wise men gave theirs.
Amen.
