MFL
To encourage children's confidence and creative skills through the exploration of another language. To stimulate and encourage children's curiosity about language. To help children develop their awareness of cultural differences in other countries. To develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. What we want children to know is clearly mapped out in our curriculum grids, we believe it is important to give our children lots of well-connected vocabulary as it’s the connection between spoken words that gives understanding and leads to the development of the spoken language. Intelligent repetition of content is built in to our curriculum as we recognise that children need to be able to retrieve core knowledge quickly if they are to use it efficiently.
