Year 6
Friday 10th January 2025
Hello Year 6!
We’ll be continuing with similar work today, building on the fantastic effort we know a lot of you put in yesterday- well done! Keep up that great attitude, and let’s see how much more progress you can make.
If you're in the choir, note the updated Choir tab on the home learning page of the website with an update of a new song to begin learning.
Don't forget the big news… The Times Tables Rock Stars head-to-head competition with the teachers is still on and things are getting serious. At the moment Year 6 have a very slender lead, but the teachers have regrouped and are ready to fight back today! Remember, you can play in any game mode, and every correct answer adds to your total score.
Let’s see if you can hold onto that top spot-go, Year 6! Stay warm, stay focused, and have fun!
We will see you all on Monday!
Maths and English
Today we will continue to look at decimals and the value of each individual digit. Like yesterday, watch the video link and then try your best to work through the questions attached in the PDF below.
Thursday 9th January 2025
Hello Year 6!
We hope you’re staying warm and safe on this snowy/icy day. Even though we can’t be together in school, we’re still thinking of you and want to say how much we appreciate the effort you’ll make with today’s tasks. We know learning from home isn’t always easy, but your hard work and determination really do make a difference.
Keep doing your best and remember- every bit of effort counts! We’re proud of all that you do. Stay cosy, have fun with your learning and we'll see you back in school very soon!
Take care,
The Year 6 Team
Maths
Today we will recover looking at the value of decimal numbers to 3 decimal places to prepare us for our next lessons back in class. We looked at this on Monday and in Year 5. I appreciate this may be tricky, but if possible this will work best if you can have the video link below on one tab/page and the work pdf on another as the video will ask you to stop at various points to complete tasks. Alternatively you can just swap back and forth between them. Watch the video and complete the work accompanying it to the best of your ability.
